Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2025
Labby ("the App") is designed with privacy as a core principle. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS application.
The Short Version
We don't collect your data. Labby is a local-first application that connects directly to your self-hosted Homepage instance. Your data stays on your device and your servers.
Information We Don't Collect
Labby does not collect, store, or transmit:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number)
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Your Homepage configuration or service data
- IP addresses or location data
- Device identifiers for tracking purposes
Information Stored Locally
The following information is stored only on your device using iOS's secure storage mechanisms:
- Homepage URL: The URL of your Homepage instance that you provide during setup
- Service Data: Cached information about your services parsed from Homepage
- App Preferences: Your settings and customizations (theme, layout, etc.)
- Browser Cookies: Cookies from services you access through the built-in browser
This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
Network Connections
Labby makes network requests only to:
- Your Homepage instance (the URL you configure)
- Services listed in your Homepage dashboard (when you tap to access them)
We do not operate any servers that receive data from the App. All connections are directly between your device and your self-hosted infrastructure.
Self-Signed Certificates
Labby supports connections to servers with self-signed SSL certificates. When you enable this feature, the app will trust certificates that iOS would normally reject. This is necessary for many homelab setups but means you should ensure you trust the servers you're connecting to.
Apple Intelligence Features
If you use the AI background generation feature, this processing occurs entirely on-device using Apple's built-in machine learning frameworks. No images or prompts are sent to external servers.
Third-Party Services
Labby does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We don't use Firebase, Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, or similar tools.
Data Deletion
To delete all data stored by Labby, simply uninstall the app from your device. Since we don't store any data remotely, uninstalling the app completely removes all associated data.
You can also clear specific data from within the app's Settings screen.
Children's Privacy
Labby does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is designed for homelab enthusiasts managing their own infrastructure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us through the app's support channels.
TL;DR: Labby is a local app that talks directly to your servers. We don't see your data, we don't want your data, and we've built the app so we can't access your data even if we wanted to. Your homelab stays yours.
